Vecchio Amaro del Capo Caffo Red hot edition with hot pepper

The symbolic product of the Caffo Distillery is the Vecchio Amaro del Capo, a Calabrian herbal liqueur, fruit of an ancient Calabrian recipe, later reworked and improved by the experience acquired by the four generations of the Caffo family.

Il Vecchio Amaro del Capo contains the active ingredients of many beneficial herbs, flowers, fruits and roots of the generous land of Calabria, infused in very fine alcohol, to help digestion and give a pleasant feeling of well-being. Among the 29 medicinal herbs that make up the infusion we remember, for their tonicodigestive properties, some very widespread in Calabria such as bitter orange, sweet orange, licorice, mandarin, chamomile and juniper.

Its gentle and aromatic taste is well suited to the most delicate palates, not accustomed to the "Amarissimi" and remember that as the best Calabrian tradition wants, it should be drunk iced (at -20 ° C in the characteristic Capo glasses) to enhance the characteristics of the particular herbs that compose it.

The old Amaro del Capo, today is among the most common and sold in Italy and boasts the distinction of being the first bitter to have been proposed frozen by the slogans launched by the company already since the '70s when consumption was mainly summer and was distributed only in Calabria.

In 2010 the Vecchio Amaro del Capo was the only Italian bitter awarded with the gold medal at the world competition in Brussels.
