Very harsh "snapshot" biscuits, but extraordinarily good, the Calabrian honey-like mustaccioli prepare, traditionally, for St. Joseph, which is a very heartfelt occasion in Calabria. In this period fairs and markets are held everywhere, and the Calabrian mustaccioli are on sale on the special banquets, and are of various forms, mainly fish and female figures, decorated with bits of colored metallic paper.
